Safety
The major safety issue in Time Banking is to ensure that unsuitable people are not in positions that provide opportunities to
harm children or vulnerable adults. Any member providing services to the following will have an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Certificate
prior to any contact:
- Child / children - anyone under 18;
- Vulnerable Adult
Vulnerable adults are people who are substantially dependant upon others, in consequence of one, or any combination, of the following factors:
- a substantial learning or physical disability;
- a physical or mental illness, chronic or otherwise including addiction to alcohol or drugs;
- a substantial reduction in physical or mental capacity due to advanced age;
- and /or receiving any of the following:
- accommodation and nursing or personal care in a care home;
- personal care in their own home through a domiciliary care agency healthcare services provided by an independent hospital, clinic, medical agency or NHS body;
- services provided by or in an establishment catering for a person with learning difficulties
